JOB DESCRIPTION
The Beverage team at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre plays a vital role in delivering exceptional service and unforgettable experiences. We’re currently hiring casual Bar Porters to support smooth and efficient beverage service across a wide range of events. From preparing and stocking bar setups to assisting Bartenders during service, this behind-the-scenes role is essential to our success. Successful candidates will be organized, safety-conscious, physically capable, and flexible to work rotating shifts, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
- Sign requisition, collect liquor/beer from stockroom, and transport using pump truck.
- Retrieve and set up bar cart at venue.
- Clean, organize, and stock bar with beverages, napkins, stir sticks, and supplies.
- Unload beverage cases at venue.
- Clean and polish glasses.
- Restock beverages, glasses, supplies, and ice as needed.
- Assist with cleanup: box empty bottles, load onto skid, shrink-wrap, and move to loading dock.
JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Preference will be given to candidates with previous bar porter experience
- Smart Serve Certification is required. Please note that the minimum age for handling alcohol is 18 years
- Pump truck and tugger certification is an asset
- Good communication and organizational skills
- This position includes some heavy lifting
- Shift work on evenings, overnights, weekends and Holidays
- In addition to several shows throughout the year, candidates must be available to work during the Autoshow
- Candidates must have their own safety shoes
