About the role

Frontline Restaurants is a locally owned and operated restaurant group managing five McDonald’s locations across Nova Scotia’s South Shore. The Operations People Manager is responsible for creating a culture of respect, improving business results and strategies to ensure that all 5 McDonalds restaurants in Bridgewater, Liverpool, Barrington Passage and Yarmouth NS meet McDonald’s Standards to deliver exceptional guest experience.

The successful candidate will provide leadership, coaching, and direction to their restaurant teams to maximize the long-term sales and profit potential of each restaurant. Leaders in this role work with cross functional disciplines to prioritize, sequence and plan support strategies to enable future business drivers. They are accountable for balancing profit growth strategies while putting people first and Running Great Restaurants is essential.

Principal Accountabilities

People & Talent Development

In addition to following Frontline Restaurants / McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrates and reinforces leadership behaviors, values, people brand standards and legislative requirements to ensure compliance across the organization.

  • Creates a Culture of Respect through a safe and inclusive work environment; this includes educating all leaders on brand standards.

  • Adheres to Occupational Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures and communicates concerns immediately.

  • Ensures all restaurant food safety and security procedures are adhered too and executed as per standards.

  • Creates an organizational plan with defined goals and targets that support the business strategies.

  • Leads the onboarding and development of Assistant Managers with detailed learning plans, performance motivation processes and succession planning to maximize business performance.

  • Completes and presents performance appraisals based on defined goals and objectives for direct reports.

  • Partners with the organizations Leadership (Owner Operator & Director of Operations to ensure the objectives of the Succession /People Plans are met.

QSC & Sales Building

  • Protects the McDonalds brand by ensuring that restaurants meet McDonald's QSC, safety, security and sanitation standards.

  • Trains management and restaurant leadership teams about critical restaurant systems that produce consistently high levels of QSC and food safety that adheres to McDonald’s and legislative standards.

  • Ensures Gold Standard Launch for all local/ National marketing initiatives.
    Business Results

  • Uses analytics to identify opportunities and threats to build a strategic business plan that optimizes market potential

  • Manages the critical PNL to ensure the financial health of the business.

Additional Requirements

  • Escalates issues and removes barriers effectively and efficiently to safeguard the company.
  • Demonstrates agility and adaptability to the changing priorities of the business.
  • Frequent travel required from Bridgewater to Yarmouth
  • Continued external education to improve business acumen

  • Guest Counts, Sales & Cash Flow – Financial Health of the business
  • Operations and Running Great Restaurants Business Plan Targets
  • Value of QSC – Guest Experience Metrics
  • Guest Feedback - Brand Health Score & Guest Satisfaction Surveys

Experience in a Quick Service environment is an asset but not a requirement for this position. Compensation includes Annual Salary, Health Benefits, Car Allowances and Quarterly Bonus.
