Company: Northern Himalayan Cafe Location: 113 Main Street East, North Bay, ON P1B 1A9 Employment Type: [Full-time], Permanent Compensation: TBD, based on experience Reports to: Restaurant Manager
Northern Himalayan Cafe is seeking an experienced and dependable Cook to join our culinary team. The successful candidate must have professional experience preparing authentic Nepali cuisine and be able to maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook authentic Nepali including Newari cuisine and culinary. Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards. Prepare ingredients and organize kitchen stations before service. Maintain consistent food quality, flavour, freshness, and presentation. Monitor inventory and assist with ordering kitchen supplies. Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace health standards. Minimize food waste and maintain proper storage procedures. Support the kitchen team during busy service periods. Assist with menu development and daily specials when required.
Qualifications 3+years professional cooking experience in Nepali including Newari cuisine is required. Strong knowledge of spices, traditional cooking methods, and food preparation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Strong time-management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Food Handler Certification is preferred. Must be available for flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
