About The Role The Server reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate and performs all aspects of service in the dining room, resident lounges and room service for residents, guests, and the public. The Server provides quality customer service to all persons served as relates to the culinary experience at our communities. Responsibilities Include but not limited to; Prepares dining room for all services which includes; setting tables, stocking necessary items, assisting the preparation, presentation and serving of food and beverages. Carries out general cleaning duties in the dining room which includes; clearing and bussing tables, scrapping and at times washing dishes while following the company’s Infection Protection and Control guidelines. Establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to pleasant dining by creating an environment which maintains the happiness, self-respect, general dignity and physical safety of each resident. Promote and maintain positive communication and relationships among staff, residents and the public. Responsible for some or all tasks related to housekeeping and laundry duties as required. Attends and participates in community and education programs. Responds to resident and building emergencies. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications And Skills Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 1-2 year’s experience in a dining room environment an asset. Food Safe Level 1 Certificate Serving It Right Certificate as applicable. WHMIS Certificate. Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills. All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines. Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions. Ability to operate related food service equipment. Must be in good health, physically able to operate food service equipment and tasks related to the position. Also, must be free from communicable diseases and allergies or conditions which may be aggravated by working with cleaners, detergents, and equipment. Requirements
Candidates should have Grade 10 education or equivalent and preferably 1-2 years of dining room experience. Required certifications include Food Safe Level 1, Serving It Right, and WHMIS, along with a clear vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
