You supervise GMs, you carry a portfolio P&L, and you're good at it. What you don't have is a decision that ends with you. Every capital request, every GM hire, every corrective action climbs through a region, into a division, and out to a corporate office that has never walked your properties. This seat reports to Ownership. The opportunity Our client is a privately owned Canadian hotel group — roughly 800 keys across five properties in Ontario and Quebec, full-service and select-service under multiple major international flags, plus a substantial conference and banquet operation. Ownership has run the portfolio closely for years and is now building the executive layer that lets them step back. You are that layer. What you'll own Portfolio operating performance — revenue, GOP and GOP margin, labour productivity, departmental profitability The General Managers: selection, development, performance expectations, compensation review, and replacement when it comes to that Structured monthly P&L reviews at every property, with corrective plans where the numbers warrant them Commercial performance alongside Sales and Revenue Management — occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and RGI, group and corporate production Brand relationships, quality assurance inspections, guest satisfaction and property improvement obligations Senior oversight of a large-format conference and banquet operation — banquet profitability, food cost, labour productivity, sales performance Capital planning with Ownership: prioritizing CapEx and protecting the long-term value of the assets Who you are 10–15+ years of progressive hotel management, with multi-property responsibility You have directly supervised hotel General Managers — not assisted them. If you have run one hotel brilliantly but never held a GM accountable for a miss, this is not that step. Full-service operational depth, with command of hotel P&L and GOP Major international brand experience; Marriott and/or Hilton strongly preferred Fluent in English and French, fully comfortable conversing interchangeably in either language Based in Ottawa or prepared to relocate to the National Capital Region. Travel within the National Capital Area and throughout Quebec. Compensation $150,000–$200,000 CAD base, target annual bonus of approximately 25%, automobile allowance, executive benefits and paid vacation. Requirements
Requires 10-15+ years of progressive hotel management experience with a track record of supervising General Managers. Must be fluent in both English and French and have experience with major international brands like Marriott or Hilton.
